In the quest where you have to stop the level 17 Sneaky Corsair from making it back to his friends, how do you catch him? I have tried several times and I have tried using a stance several times, but I still get nowhere near him. Any ideas?
Thanks Skweak |

I messed up the first time I tried that quest as well. I'm of two minds on this one.
1) Try to use a speed reduction skill on him. Obviously a Ranged one, since he just takes off running whenever you get close to him. 2) Sneak around the other side of the islands that he's running across. He'll stop and wait if you don't follow him directly, so you should be able to get ahead of him that way. I'd also like to point out that this would probably get more and better attention over in the Elona specific forum. |

Use dodge and run towards him, shoot him with crippling arrow and it'll be easy.

I had some trouble with my Warrior (no ranged attack). What I did was to clear the area up to his buddies BEFORE talking to the guy outside about the quest. This enabled me to just chase him using sprint all the time.
I never did catch him until right at the end (may be impossible to catch him), But did take him down & complete the quest. |

He doesn't seem to run anymore when he's on the final island, near where Ironfist hangs out. I tried and he was miles ahead of me the whole time until he reached that little dock, where he simply stood and waited for me to kill him.

How do you do it with a Dervish char? Make use of the secondary?

The easiest way is to circle around the other side and block him from the front.

I don't like this quest. Anet has clearly tried to make it hard to "cheat". If you clear all the mobs before talking to Rahlon, you will hear the quest updated noise. Then when you actually take the quest, you will find that the raider is a long way ahead of you, as if you'd been chasing him. He does wait though, there are checkpoints that he waits at, so as people have said you can avoid these and approach from the other side.
I did it how I presume it was intended, with running skills and Crippling Shot. I had to get Acolyte Jin to do it, which was no problem. But even with Dodge and Crippling Shots, I still only caught up to him when he was almost at his destination, and only Jin and myself were still alive, because of all the enemies on the way. The fact that they never stop chasing doesn't help. Nor does Imagined Burden. Oh and the fact that Rahlon nearly always dies just before you kill the raider. I think it is my choice for worst quest in the game. |

Hero/hench positioning ftw. Stand far enough away that you don't trigger the quest. Send your heroes (make sure 1 is Jin with Pin Down, set on attack mode) somewhere past your target. Target him, call him, then cancel your hero positioning. They will run back towards you, and when they encounter him, start attacking. By the time you get to him he'll be either dead or close to it. Piece of cake once you figure it out.
